Hobby of Passion

Host of the jpeg2RAW podcast and creator of jpeg2RAW Photography Podcast.

My entrance into photography really began 2000 with the purchase of his first digital camera, the Fuji FinePix 2400. While this camera was very limited in capability, the images it created made me thirsty for more.  I  ending up spending a few seasons as a hired sports shooter for a local photography company shooting over a thousand soccer games.  While I was paid for the work, it was mainly for the fun of shooting!

While my boys are now grown and no longer play organized sports, I still enjoy shooting friends kids sports as well as landscape, IR and more.

I now shoot with a Nikon D700, Nikon D500 and an IR converted D2x.

Looking for shooting opportunities

I mainly shoot sports, but am trying to spread out and shoot other topics.  The chart to the right, is an estimate of how I would like my photography spread across the various topics.  It’s more about the time spent on this subjects and not the number of images.

Sports 30
Wildlife 15
Landscapes 20
Lifestyle 20
Infrared 10
Macro 5

“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.”
“Black and white are the colors of photography. They symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is subjected.”
